As above. They took your normal DD payment first, then put it right. Why I dislike Direct Debits, like leaving your card on the bar at a pub.

Generally speaking, most domestic cleaning agents are an alkaline. That is relying on the reaction between a mild alkaline and a mild acid to make lots of bubbles, that may, or may not, dislodge a blockage. Nothing to do with a magical mixture that dissolves anything. The hot water probably does more good. As to why your pipes are distorting/softening, I really don't know. We had a cleaning product that was 95% water, it stained some stainless steels (but not others).

It is really down to the difference between power and energy. Energy is power multiplied by time. To run a heat pump you need a certain amount of power, for a fixed time, otherwise you are importing the difference. This is basically down to having a delay between the HP starting up, and then delivering power. This is not so much of a problem with a purely resistive load like an immersion heater. These can take a few seconds of excess power, heat the water a bit, then shut down till the sky is clear again. The easy way to find out is to monitor every minute or so. Then work out how often the HP would, on average, be importing power.

Right. Sorry to be finickity, units first. I think what you have is a 2.5 kWp PV system and you think you need a 4.8 kWh battery system. Do you currently have a hot water cylinder with an electrical immersion heater in it? If you do, diverting the PV power to that will be the easiest and cheapest way to store your energy. With a small system like yours, it should be possible to self use near enough all your power, have you monitored your energy usage to see what you actually use, and what is using it? Battery systems are all the rage, but remember that the most expensive, bought in electricity, is probably cheaper than current battery systems.

Where is the kWh price heading in 2022?

I am sure I read on here that we were going to run out of energy this last winter. We didn't. Seems that coal usage was down as well, again. Edits by Mods to remove full article, provide precis and a link to the full article. "Europe faced an energy crisis six months ago when spiking gas prices, compounded by a once-in-500-year drought, threatened the continent with rolling blackouts and fuel shortages. However, the feared crisis never came to pass due to the mild winter weather reducing demand and high prices pushing energy users to cut back even further. The drop in demand also prevented a resurgence of coal, and renewables, particularly solar, stepped in to save the day. The rollout of renewables and energy efficiency measures is essential to ensure supply keeps up with growing demand, but the weather could still cause major disruption. Europe must bank as much gas as possible for winter, particularly if the summer brings another intense drought. Despite this, energy analysts remain optimistic that Europe won't face a similar situation to last year." His voice took advantage of quantum processes. As does your electric screwdriver. Not sure about Dr. Who's sonic screwdriver, that was just a wooden prop.

After last night's storm, I would think all our beaches are out of bounds. Last week's comic mentioned Cornwall a lot, especially St. Agnes. https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg25734311-000-the-state-of-britains-rivers-slurry-silage-and-sewage

I get all the physiological benefits of cold water swimming (which is just swimming really) from a hot bath. The only difference is that I don't park my car like a complete (expletive deleted). I was driving past Abbey Slip at about 9PM the other night, some bloke was just finishing his swim, car parked over two occupied parking spaces, which also reduced the road to a single lane. Swimmers down here are a menace.

I did a reply to this, but just found out it was the wrong thread about 2D printed houses. Was from 2017.

Dig all the dirt out, line with several millimeters of GRP. Then, after a month, put the dirt back in. Leave for several years for the wall to dry properly. Then repaint. Probably won't work. You could try the opposite. GRP the outside and hope it is not too damp to stick to the wall.

STP emptying the same as desludging?

Too right. There does seem to be a lack of scientific research available. Makes me wonder what the plant manufacturers use when they come up with a newer design. Many years ago I lived in Aylesbury, one if the larger employers there was Klargester, only knew one person that worked there. He was a nob. Did interview someone from there, he had lost his job. I soon worked out why. He was a nob as well. -

You are in the right place to start making plans. As above. An Architect is probably not the place to find the solutions to reducing energy usage. Thermally, houses are quite simple. Stop the air leaking out, then insulate, a lot. As it has cavity wall insulation, make sure it has not failed anywhere. Unexplained damp on walls is a giveaway. Probably worth getting hold of a thermal camera, overheating the place, then take pictures all around it, late at night. Don't get bogged down with 'eco' technology at this stage. Find out what is easy and effective to do first. Then you will know what needs to be done second, third .... -
'Open' at night as well. Wish I knew where my equivalent road was. Would be cheaper than my girlfriend, cheaper than my car today as well.

And this is what Raquel Welch looked like, even though it was only 1966. “Sexual intercourse began in nineteen sixty-three (Which was rather late for me) between the end of the Chatterley ban and the Beatles' first LP.”

Streetfield Flat Roof Warranty

Bad workmanship. If the people doing it don't know what they are doing, it will not be very good. That tends to be true of everything though. I think EDPM can too easily give the impression that it is as easy to fit as a newly ironed bedsheet. I would do the same checks on both trades.
