We used to put a char on the saunas we made. It was more for looks than weather proofing. We soon abandoned it. Saunas get there own charing that looks very different. We did notice that there seemed to be no difference in weathering. Commercial saunas, which get hosed down daily, still rotted out at the base. Pointed out that they should be cleaned when hot as that dries the water off. But pool cleaners tend to do the early shift.

Now I know it is nice and sunny, and we have the longest hours of daylight this week, but what struck me as odd is how little nuclear generation is currently happening. It may be scheduled maintenance, but I would have thought that we could be increasing it and using less natural gas. Both wind and solar are generation more than 50% more than nuclear at the moment (16:10 19/06/2023), gas is less than the two combined by about 10%.
