  1. This one is around itself in Tehidy.
  2. Sun pipes/tubes usually have a vented top dome to reduce condensation. The brush seal usually fails after a while and insects get in. The design may have changed as it was last century that I was involved with them.
  3. You have some trees, rare for the North Coast.
  4. Is that to stop any chance of voltage leaking back down the grid when there is a fault?
  5. Isn't GIT used for tracking projects. I have never used it, but have downloaded a copy to see what it is all about. Most 'office' software has version control built in.
  6. BS9991 was updated in November 2024. https://ww3.rics.org/uk/en/journals/built-environment-journal/bs-9991-fire-safety-guidance.html Quick overview here: https://knowledge.bsigroup.com/products/fire-safety-in-the-design-management-and-use-of-residential-buildings-code-of-practice-2
  7. I hope you are going to insulate and fit a draft skirt.
  8. Same sales pitch happening then. A pool is a lot of work.
  9. Were you on the material spec team for Pellikaan when they built St. Albans Leisure Centre, within a few weeks they had to rebuild the place. Not sure what pools you go in, possibly brominated ones that smell a little less, but still corrosive, or ones where the pH is too low and it is converting the chlorine to Hypochlorite. People think swimming pools are easy to look after. Some random pictures. And the classic.
  10. Make sure all nails, screws, bolts and brackets are corrosion proof.
  11. Quite a lot of commercial pools have UFH as it helps to keep the floor dry, less slippy, and therefore safer.
  12. Realistically how often do pipes freeze in Hampshire? As this is a temporary building, just cover the walls with mineral wool and, as @JohnMo suggests, a VLC on the inside. If it gets really cold, a ten quid, 400W electric fan heater from eBay.
  13. As the pool building is quite large, can you not make your own MVHR unit. Stainless steel has a conductivity of around 20W/m.K. A 3mm thick sheet would have a U-value of 6.6 kW/m².K (I think: U=1/(thickness/conductivity). With only a few metres of area and a relatively slow airspeed you could shift quite a bit of energy into the incoming air. Probably only need a couple of relatively cheap, variable speed, fans and the controls could be manual after a bit fiddling.
  14. That is odd as PV modules are fixed voltage devises (they are diodes). More investigation would be needed there.
  15. Do you ever want to remove it? A high modulus silicone would allow that with a bit of leverage.
  16. I was going to suggest gaslighting, but can't be bothered to convince you are all wrong.
  17. Welcome I ate a Carolina Reaper whole and raw, then did not drink anything for 10 minutes. I prefer the Gaudi stuff in Barcelona.
  18. Having been involved with leisure club and centres, as soon as a swimming pool is involved, the job becomes a lot harder. Whoever designs for you, will need to know their materials as they need to be corrosion resistant and able to handle relatively high temperatures and humidity at 100% all year around. Air handling (HVAC) has to be considered at the start, not when it becomes a problem. Do you really want, what I assume, is an expensive car next to a pond of chlorine?
  19. Welcome. South West is a large area, seems to cover anywhere from Swindon to the horror that is Cornwall. But we give short shrift to pansies.
  20. I didn't, but it has been over a decade since I was involved in specifying systems. Still no consensus on whether to earth or no. We never used to, and I am not sure how sensible it is to inject a DC voltage down the neutral side of the incoming supply (TN-C-S, protective multiple earthing). Probably not a problem at 20V, but 600V, even for a short time, may cause issues. As for lightning strikes, a bit of 4mm cabling won't help much when 1 GJ of energy goes though it.
  21. There has been a debate, for at least 2 decades, about Earthing PV panels (and frames). Some inverter manufacturers say not to, others say you must. What does the SMA documents say for your inverter. There is a difference between transformer and transformer-less systems. Bit here about it. https://www.renewsolar.co.uk/uncategorised/delving-into-bs-7671-section-712-and-solar-panel-systems/
  22. All our saunas were made with white pine, usually Siberian. Siberian pine is often called cedar or dwarf cedar, even though it is not a cedar. So be careful what you ask for. Benches were made from Abachi, often called African Whitewood.
  23. I use 5G, have a look at the providers and see when they are upgrading the infrastructure. No idea about Starlink, quite expensive isn't it.
  24. Try this https://uk.farnell.com/nxp/mpxv2010dp/pressure-sensor-10-kpa-1351-01/dp/1608916 I think it is what I bought.
