Had a few days off so doing the prep for the shed...IMG_20160826_164030387.jpgmanaged a lick of paint in the loo too

Doesn't look like much but tackled a jungle of bush with a friend's Lidl petrol strimmer

Job done ?

Update

Tried the Glasgow Barras (flea market) for three items I wanted for the hut. An hour of raking through junk and found nothing other than a big teapot...but without its lid.

Headed over to the west end dissatisfied but looking forward to a spicy curry from Mother India Cafe as compensation. One curry tapas medley later and thought I'd try some of the trendy second hand/antique shops in the area.

Bingo Bango in the first shop. All three things on the list...30 squids!

We got a catering teapot ( for heating water for washing up on the stove) a brass and copper coal scuttle and a nice toast fork...and I made a nice picture for you lot to look at since the forum is quiet.???

Erm yes sarking...that's larch isn't it.

Hey it was Saturday night, just me and the boy sharing an M&S meal deal, he doesn't drink so I had the wine all to myself.

Today, ran out of roof felt due to my last minute notion to increase the roof overhang. Topping out ceremony will have to wait another day?

And a nice view of the Hut from the shed roof...

Erm, no, sarking is pressure treated softwood. Well I suppose you might have found it made of larch but that would be rather unusual! Tbh it might outlast the locally grown larch that I've used...

Sun came out just as I took the photo resulting in rubbish over exposure but...I'm half way there with just the bus shelter part to finish.

Think my hidden doors look good and the hinges (£16 a pair from toolstation) set it off nicely.

Fantastic sunny day today in Carbeth...nothing nicer than a day on the tools using up all the odd end cuts?

A few neighbours dropped by too which was nice...while you're here pal can you hold that piece of wood nice and high for me???

Anyhow, the bus shelter is taking shape, just the back wall and some cladding to do before getting started inside.

I'll be entering the buildhub shed competition once this is complete.

Suspect we will need at least three categories, under £1,000, best aesthetic design and best re-use of materials.

Winners receive 10 extra free *likes* and a screwfix voucher for a tenner.

Patent pending on the competition format design...TL??

Here's my entry to the Buildhub shed of the year, we'll be living in the shed for a couple of years during our main build.

I was going to nominate my pallet shed for the "reuse" category but I think OnOff has just won that one.

Triassic definitely wins the best aesthetic design category.

That's a shed? Seriously? It's bigger than many of the original properties where I live I kid you not and certainly better built. Sod my bathroom can I move in now?

EDIT: Mods, this is needing to be hived off into it's own thread maybe?

This is @Tennentslager's BBQ. If he says it's good sport then I say let it roll. B|

Too dark for a photo of #shed1, so I'll update tomorrow. #shed2 aka the man-shed is WiP ?. "Keep the faith Nick, keep the faith", ( utters to himself sadly ? ).
