Wall with severe exposure

Good morning all, I have been asked by the building control to render the wall as it has severe weather exposure. However due to the planning requirement we have to have brick finish. Any suggestions or way around this ? Many thanks

Go back and tell planning that "building regs say it MUST be rendered"

why *must* it be rendered? Surely the requirement for render or equivalent is only for solid walls, and isn't required for cavity. A check reveal is required in NI (and Scotland?) though.

Assuming in England Appr Doc C gives maximum exposure zones for a range of cavity wall details - fair faced or render? full or part fill insulation? cavity width? etc.
