Patio paint?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We've just had out garden landscaped and had some Brazilian slate put down for a path and a patio for the annexe at the bottom of the garden. We have a small old patio at the main house, concrete blocks, that doesn't match the slate (obviously). Long term plan is to extend the kitchen over that so we didn't want to waste money slabbing the old section. So we were thinking as a quick fix/spruce up is there a hardy patio paint we could use to paint them in a similar shade to the slate? A lot of the patio will be covered in planters, outdoor furniture so there shouldn't be too much on show.

if you want it to last for a long time get a 2 pack type --cheap single pack about £20-30 per 5litres-buy a cheap floor brush --done in a very short time

We'll probably be ripping it up in 5yrs I'd say. Hopefully sooner.

then go single pack cheap  type --thats lasts about 1-2 years in a everyday workshop -with oil+ brake fluid and heavy traffic --so shold last fine for patio

We used a screwies or maybe wickes own brand cheap floor paint in the garage.....we have great chunks lifted off where hot tyres have run over it.  Will have to find a better solution at some point.  We had planned to have that resin paint but somehow that got lost along the way.

Screwfix floor paint is usually pretty good - trick is to hoover the floor to start with and water down the first coat with white spirit and apply thinly with a roller. When it’s tacky, apply the next coat at right angles and it will bond fine.
