Hi All, we are keen to settle in NI in the Enniskillen area and are looking to buy a building site with PP in the region of £60k to build a bungalow on.  Any help with details on how to trace an owner of land and pointers on where to start will be greatly appreciated.

Probably your first stop should be the Northern Ireland Land and Property Service (LPS). https://www.finance-ni.gov.uk/land-property-services-lps

They hold land registration details for NI, and should be able to point you in the right direction. Good Luck

Welcome. Do you have a particular plot in mind or is it just a general search.

Just be careful a lot of Enniskillen the ground conditions are very poor. Just look at how far the ground has sunk around the point shopping centre. Plus there was a housing development on the Sligo rd that got demolished due to the houses all sinking.

What Declan said- do bear in mind that planning Policy is a bit different over here compared to GB also, and under the new PPS21 selling off farm fields has been rather curtailed.

I always start by.walking round the plot and asking the neighbours, someone local must know something. If not they might know of other potential plots.

The land registry allows for enquiries as to who owns the land though I can't confirm whether it's services are available in NI.
