And it is much easier to keep an eye on spending. We only ever cash for the cleaner. Just never use it otherwise, would prefer not to use it for the cleaner either. Rarely even use cards now either.

I wonder how many classic car owners will try to hoard fuel for the apocalypse 😀 With a whole fleet of classics it not remotely viable. Ive just started building a 57 chevy truck hot rod project. I did, briefly, consider an electric drivetrain, but then i came to my senses and decided to stick with a 5.7 V8 LS1 driveline. That said, its rapidly getting cheaper. Whats a real shame is that GM never went ahead with the "eCrate" project. And electric "drop in" replacement for the LS series of engines. Dropped due to liability concerns. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/10/chevrolet-performance-launches-electric-connect-and-cruise-package/ The interest at its launch at the SEMA show was mental. Kits are stupid expensive, you may as well sell the car. This is the way. With most vehicle service businesses still tuned for ICE vehicles, repair options for EVs are limited (and partially artificially restricted by manufacturers anyway) so lots of EVs get written off when fairly new with minimal miles. Pick a model that the DIY EV community has really dug into and you have a great starter kit for a similar price to a chunky crate motor. Having said that, this is still the preserve of very technical people with electronic/computer skills and even then the newer rules about battery safety means that packaging the battery might still require independent certification (which I saw might cost something like £5k).

Wonder if you can answer me this… Not far from me there are 2 fuel stations about 100m apart, both owned by MFG. One was BP and the other Shell for many years. They both closed for a refurb about a year or so ago at the same time. When they reopened, the BP had become Shell and the Shell had become ESSO! I’m sure there must be a reason, would love to know what. Why not just swap the BP to ESSO and leave the Shell as is! it will be the deal they were offered or maybe bp would not renew there deal
scottishjohn Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago sorry did not read close enough sounds like shell and bp it will all be down to deals and volume of sites and what terminal they deliver from --and drivers hours --without knowing all details its impossible to tell certainly fuel suppliers have no problem in dumping dealers if it don,t fit with what they are planning come end of contract

Im using the donor vehicle for whole drive line, suspension, subframes, wiring, dash etc. Know nothing about vipers, nor are donors cheap!
