Joining kitchen units together

When joining kitchen units together, is there a standard practice for placement of connectors.  I'll be putting one connector behind the back panel...

Any decent carpenter / kitchen installer will take the hinges off, clamp the units together exactly aligned, and then screw through with 30mm countersunk wood-screws (not the thru-connectors) so the hinges hide the screws.
 

Note: for 15mm carcasses use 25mm screws, and only use 30mm for 18mm.

you can use these too if for some reason you don't want the screws behind the hinges

Don’t put a fixing behind the back panel, you will never know it’s there and will never be able to remove a cabinet if you need to.

That is a lovely tip and one I would never have thought of - Thanks for sharing

 

New Kitchen being delivered in Oct so very useful and timely

Like Nick says, is what I did. Those bolt from each side things that came with DIY kitchens I simply didn't use, just screws behind the hinges or if I couldn't do that I just counter sunk and used the colour coded stickers.

The wax sticks are good too.
