carlos21 Posted Tuesday at 20:42 Posted Tuesday at 20:42 Looking for thermally broken fixings that stop cold bridging, I used some hammer in nails that went into a large rawl plug and had a plastic cap on the nail, but i wasnt that impressed with the thermal break to be honest. Anyone use some they were happy with? Thanks carl
Gus Potter Posted Tuesday at 23:48 Posted Tuesday at 23:48 Have a look here, they may have something that floats your boat. https://www.ejot.co.uk/ If not on their website use that old thing called the telephone and give them a call. 1

carlos21 Posted yesterday at 20:44 Author Posted yesterday at 20:44 Sorry for slow reply Iam fixing insulated plasterboard to stonewalls mostly and some on concrete blocks. The fixings i have used in the past created tiny black spots from condensation from cold bridging.
Gus Potter Posted yesterday at 20:52 Posted yesterday at 20:52 Fixing insulated platerboard directly to stone walls is likely to give you a pile of problems further down the line. Fixing to concrete blocks has similar risks. Best thing you can do it to post more info. Just draw a sketch on A4 paper, photograph it and post. You won't get tested on your drawing skills.
Super_Paulie Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I used foam onto my concrete blocks but regs said I needed to use mechanical fixings as well. If you're not getting it checked I'd just use the foam personally.
ADLIan Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Please do not omit the fixing(s) - it's only one or 2 per board (check MIs). In a fire any plastic insulation attached to the plasterboard will melt or soften and the plasterboard may fall off the wall. This exposes more fuel to a fire (combustible insulation) and blocks possible escape routes. Additionally it could be a major hazard for fire fighters if they have to enter the building if people reported in there. 1
