Crofter Posted Monday at 09:09 Posted Monday at 09:09 I've just started replacing a couple of windows. Previously I'd used SIga Wigluv black tape, and I can confirm that after nearly ten years it's still perfectly adhered and has done its job perfectly. It's flippin expensive though. I can get e.g. Illbruck ME315 for a third of the price, and it also seems very highly regarded. Â I'd be interested to hear what tapes other people have used and how you would rate them.
Thorfun Posted Monday at 09:14 Posted Monday at 09:14 (edited) Tescon Vana tape bought from LATZEL Dämmstoffe. Was about €20 a roll when I last bought. Edited Monday at 09:14 by Thorfun Stupid autocorrect 1

Tescon Vana is the product. there's other's in the line that deal with different things, like around windows we used the Tescon Profil. if you do a quick search on here you'll find a wealth of information! 1
SimonD Posted Monday at 13:54 Posted Monday at 13:54 I used Gerband products from PassivHaus Systems but then needed some extra and they didn't have the Gerband in stock - I went for the own brand PHS stuff and it seems absolutely fine if not quite as good as the Gerband stuff. Only limitation is minimum order quantities.Â
Crofter Posted Monday at 14:48 Author Posted Monday at 14:48 Oh well in the end I've chosen Illbruck me315, because the places selling the other stuff all wanted silly money for delivery (of a single roll of tape) to a Highlands postcode. Hopefully it'll be up to the job.

I have about 20 metres of ME508 available (100mm depth). Edited 8 hours ago by craig

Of course they have no idea that Inverness has roads, and a railway, let alone an airport. I suspect some of them are profiteering, but most are in need of geography lessons (or their chosen couriers).

It's so frustrating. Parcel force deliver to here at a decent price, and obviously anything royal mail is a fixed rate. But so many companies ignore these options.  I swear that when I was doing the build, I spent more time trying not to get shafted on delivery than I did actually building!  One little good news story though- yesterday I phoned a supplier for something and they agreed to cut their stock 2m length down to the 1.8m I needed, which dropped it down a price bracket on delivery. Order went from £93 to £52 with a single phone call. Very decent of them. 1
Iceverge Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago https://airtightnesstapes.co.uk/products/3100-black-airtight-tape?variant=48379082309911   This stuff looks identical to the stuff I used but a different brand.  It doesn't look fancy but i was very impressed with it in person. Better than the Belgatape and Tyvek tape. I've used it externally on the garage too and it survived the weather for 6 months before I clad it.  Â
Mattg4321 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I've also used PassivHaus Systems own branded tape and found it very good.
