canalsiderenovation Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) Woke up to this, it's our spare shower and not regularly used. Been in for about 3 years with no issues. Any idea what can cause this? Didn't even hear it. Its the flipped thingy Edited September 20 by canalsiderenovation 1
Bonner Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Happened to me twice, once at home and once in a hotel room, wasn’t anywhere near them at the time. It’s pretty much a spontaneous explosion, could be a combination of material fault and thermal expansion.

Does anyone know if you can just replace the flipper or if whole glass has to come off. It looks like it's just the flipper bit that smashed.
Bonner Posted September 20 Posted September 20 My flipper panel was supplied separately but it may depend on the manufacturer. Suggest you find out the make and model and look at the hinge fixings, you should be able to take it off.
canalsiderenovation Posted September 20 Author Posted September 20 Good news is it looks like the flipper panel can be replaced as I've taken it off just now. Bad news, chip and scratches hes in slate ecfect shower tray thingy. Any idea how to repair?
dpmiller Posted September 20 Posted September 20 looks like the same flipper as ours. If so, there's a wee screw holds the top cap on, as a pivot
