MikeGrahamT21 Posted Tuesday at 20:11 Posted Tuesday at 20:11 I can go days without a ‘glitch’, and then have it happen 3 times in 10 mins, doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. You’ll get used to it eventually, think of it as a feature, giving your eyes a break for a second or two 😂 1

Pocster Posted Wednesday at 10:08 Author Posted Wednesday at 10:08 (edited) Right ! Getting (expletive deleted)ed off here ! Brand new certified cables arrived . Will drop them in later . Ordered a fire stick - so I can see if Appletv ‘aggressive ‘ hdmi shake is the real issue . If fire stick works then I’ll swap to that . So potentially can return fire stick vertex2 denon ffs ! Pocster Posted Wednesday at 14:27 Author Posted Wednesday at 14:27 Changed all the leads removed vertex2 hdr has now disappeared!! 😳🫤 (expletive deleted) knows how or why !!
Pocster Posted Wednesday at 15:21 Author Posted Wednesday at 15:21 Completely confused now ! All I did is change the leads and remove vertex2 . But I have different audio options and no hdr - which I had before vertex2 ! Some shitty firmware somewhere ! peter Tyson have accepted my return as long as it’s within 14 days from now . So I’ve got a good 10 days to test this …. Just don’t get it !
-rick- Posted Wednesday at 15:27 Posted Wednesday at 15:27 Reset to factory and start again? Consider whether there might be different firmware versions (for the Denon) that don't have these issues. (no idea how easy it is to downgrade). Are some inputs on the Denon more capable than others? Have you consistently used the same ports? I doubt I'm suggesting anything useful as technology has moved forward since I last dealt with this but just throwing out ideas incase it helps. 1

The thing is . One person will change cable and it works . One person will change port and it works . Another person says some magic words and it works . It is all a bit random as Google verifies - what works for you might not work for me . My richer sounds is local and they said I can buy what I want and return in 14 days for a full refund . So that trial setup might be more helpful
-rick- Posted Wednesday at 15:46 Posted Wednesday at 15:46 and provide a steady supply of open box discounts to other local buyers Wonder which brand you'll end up with? 1
Pocster Posted Wednesday at 16:57 Author Posted Wednesday at 16:57 (edited) Well !! I’m thick as (expletive deleted) and firmware is shite … This isn’t conclusive yet but ….. The default on the denon is dual display outputs - DEFAULT …. 🫤😳 I don’t read the manual ( who does ) and logically plug my projector into port 1 ( or monitor 1 as they call it ) . Get a picture - no worries …. As I change all the cables etc then reboot - I just happen to notice output is dual ( port 1 and 2 ) not just monitor 1 … so I change it . That is why the screen and sound options change I think ( will confirm tomorrow rebel moon is running continuously with at this point in time no drop outs ) . So I’m a thick (expletive deleted) for not seeing that . Denon are thick (expletive deleted)s for not having the software see nothing is plugged in port 2 and not try and handshake with it ffs !!! im waiting for @Kelvin to come back and say “ you thick (expletive deleted) change that “ But Denon ! For the love of god default should be 1 output surely - I wonder how many others are struggling stuck on dual output …. Edited Wednesday at 17:01 by Pocster

If you have 2 outputs connected it will work . Tomorrow I’ll change it back to dual - if I get video / sound options that I shouldn’t ( was always confused by this ) - then that’s proof …..

Monitor 1 allows CEC, ARC, eARC whereas monitor 2 doesn’t so you should always use monitor 1. Mine is still on Auto (dual) display. Eta oh and you thick (expletive deleted) just for completeness. Take the Denon back to RS and see if they can replicate the problem. Edited yesterday at 08:35 by Kelvin 1

Take the Denon back to RS and see if they can replicate the problem. Apparently it still tries handshake with no monitor in . More interesting if you have 2 monitors in it naturally will format the display to the lowest denomination for both screens . So , with 1 screen in it was downgrading my options because it’s getting ‘ something ‘ from non existent monitor 2 . Perhaps all this occurs just with my projector maybe . I googled a lot and it is certain it tries monitor 2 ; because dual is set . Since changing it I’ve had zero blackouts . Come Monday if the same then it’s fixed . If I were you I’d make a notice of what video and audio options you have ( depends on content of course ) . Set it to single display - reboot all , see if you get any different / missing options . Kelvin Posted yesterday at 09:39 Posted yesterday at 09:39 I have full HDR full resolution etc so it works fine. I’ve also had two monitors plugged into both ports the main TV and a shitty old TV with no problems. 1

Denon apparently are ‘aware’ of the potential issue but don’t publicise it . If only by default it was on single monitor then the problem would be largely avoided . Still , I’m confident it’s fixed . The projector has always given an incredible picture in a light controlled room . Now the audio is ‘correct’ e.g getting Dolby atmos pushed through where before just didn’t . I am happy ! . Atmos ceiling speakers due anyday now …. 1
