Lincolnshire Ian Posted April 18 Posted April 18 My building spec is for 160mm PIR in the floor. This is OK, but I am struggling to find any insulation thicker than 150mm and to keep things simple I would like to avoid using two different thicknesses. Does anyone know where I can get 160MM PIR? Thanks
BotusBuild Posted April 18 Posted April 18 I got mine from the insulation seconds place in south wales. Alternatively, 100mm and 60mm in two layers, or whatever you can buy

Russell griffiths Posted April 19 Posted April 19 (edited) Far better to do two layers and stagger the joints. 150mm is a pain to cut. if it comes bent it’s hard to straighten, two layers would be my choice every time. Edited April 19 by Russell griffiths
Super_Paulie Posted April 19 Posted April 19 2 layers for me. Cutting 50mm compared to 120mm was an absolute dream. Meant I could double secure for air tightness as well as I did that between the layers.
Benpointer Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Regarding Seconds and co, they advertise their PIR boards as being 70/80mm or 90/100mm but I want 100mm, not 90mm nor do I want a mixture of 90 and 100mm. How do I know what I'm going to get?

Looked at the seconds & co option and there were too many little things like delivery criteria, sizing "alternatives" etc. I just thought sod it and bought exactly what I needed. Each to their own I guess. I bought from Pinks in the end, they essentially just have it delivered from a local supplier they have a deal with as it had Newcastle on the delivery note.
