Benpointer Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Apols - I have tried searching BH for the answer to this but remain confused. Can I get a grant for an ASHP installation in our new self-build (in Dorset, England)? Thanks
MikeSharp01 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Yes because self builders are specifically mentioned in the legislation, so you don't need be removing an old gas boiler, and there are some other criteria which mean you are a self builder anyway so easy to meet.
Dreadnaught Posted March 3 Posted March 3 As others have said, yes you can. But note that I think that it must be an MSC-certified installation… so for example a DIY-install is unlikely to be an option if you want the grant. 1
JohnMo Posted March 3 Posted March 3 As above yes in England and Wales, think it seems to have disappeared in Scotland unless you are on government assistance. So has to be MCS install. This can be a self installed if you do it via an MCS umbrella scheme. But has to be a "self builder", not a housing estate building company.

Expand But check out the Cool Energy site - they have a zero cost, self install setup. They cover the MCS side of things.
