AdamD Posted Thursday at 20:20 Share Posted Thursday at 20:20 We’re having a loft conversion and have been asked which roof tiles we want, either concrete edgemere tiles or composite slate tiles. Pros and cons of each? We really don’t know!
Thorfun Posted Thursday at 20:36 Share Posted Thursday at 20:36 Why just the 2 options. How about natural slate?

Pros and cons of each? We really don’t know! Both fine. Will last 60-70 years with some care. Tiles look chunkier, slates look flatter. Natural slates will last twice as long but cost 3 times as much.

We paid £1.24 a slate for our Spanish slates from Jewson. Also at the time concrete tiles had a massive lead time! times have changed since then I presume though

SuperJohnG Posted Thursday at 23:44 Share Posted Thursday at 23:44 What do you currently have? For longevity and Aestethics...go slate but natural. If you're not bothered and its in the houses adjacent go tile My slates Cupa RH2
Conor Posted Friday at 08:37 Share Posted Friday at 08:37 What's wrong with your existing roof tiles? I'd assume yud be replacing like for like. Your planning permission may not permit a change in roof covering.

I can go back to discuss any cost implications of natural slate.
