Pocster Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 It’s external - so not a real issue , just awkward . Think of 2 pieces of timber screwed together . You would get that slight gap between the timbers - it’s that bit I need to fill . Did paint them with waterproof liquid rubber but as awkward couldn’t get the brush in there ( can’t actually see into that gap so painted blind ) . So I guess I need maybe a spray type waterproofing solution ( spray and hope ! ) . See them online - just wondered if anyone recommends a specific one / brand . None of this will be visible when done so messiness not an issue !
joe90 Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 More info required on where and how and what’s leaking (rain?)

It’s just rain getting in that gap . Grabbed a random photo of internet . So this type of ‘gap’ - just want to piss / spray something along that bit where the timbers meet .
joe90 Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Expanding PU wood glue that’s works on damp substrate. This is my “go to” glue for thst kind of work. Might be a problem tho if you have already covered it in other stuff.

Yeah , also access is tricky - can’t actually get low enough too see what I’m doing ; hence was thinking maybe a spray like for example

Pocster Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 Just now, joe90 said: Can you not protect the area (pic?) Well maybe - just thought a nice spray would be easier for my laziness . Think of a ( wait for it ) walk on glazing upstand . Not THAT one - these are Lightwells external to the build .
Nickfromwales Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 If waters getting to the other side of untreated wood, then don’t you need to solve the issue further upstream? Just saying….. 2
Jilly Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I’ve got a cheap endoscope from Amazon which is useful for looking in difficult to access places. 1

Onoff Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I was looking for the old Seek 'n Seal we'd use around our windscreens as kids with leaky old Fords. Came across this and liked the name: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Captain-Tolleys-Creeping-Crack-sealer/dp/B003T6EJ9A/ref=mp_s_a_1_3? 1 1
