MikeGrahamT21
Hi Bit of an odd one this one. Our neighbour recently had a new spot light fitted, and it seems very sensitive, so much so that we can turn it on inside our kitchen, through the glass of the composite door, and it got me thinking... It's patterned glass, but the pattern is on the inside, just how it came, but to me that's inside out? We have another exactly the same, and that also has pattern to inside. I've even had a look on other people's and theirs is the same. Is there a reason for this or are they all wrong way round? Pretty sure the soft low e coating can only be on flat glass. They are both doors which can have the glass replaced, so taking it out and turning it round shouldn't be impossible. What do you think? Ferdinand
@MikeGrahamT21 I think that is the difficult solution. Get the neighbour to turn the sensor down, or repoint it lower. They should comply (send @Onoff in in a Borg costume if necessary), since technically it could a nuisance and reported to the Council. I just redirected one at the Little Brown Bungalow that was being triggered by cars driving past. Or go downstairs naked at 2am, then complain about the Voyeurs Next Door . Onoff
.22 or .177 will sort it!
MikeGrahamT21
Lol! I don't mind the light to be fair, saves us putting ours on, it was more a question of if the sensor can pick me up, that means IR radiation is escaping, and therefore heat. Doesn't happen on the windows which are smooth to the inside.
Russell griffiths
I have a feeling this is something that has been done this way for years. Pattern to inside so outside flat so it stays cleaner, that's what I was told many years ago.
MikeSharp01
Get a concave mirror and reflect the focused light back into their windows they will soon get the message.
MikeGrahamT21
lol, good plan! I'm pretty sure you can take the glazing units out of the door, would turning them round give us any benefits in terms of energy efficiency? Not sure how much the reflective coating actually adds.
