Crofter
Looking for a recommendation for a cheap, simple thermometer so that I can check the temperature of my house when I'm not there. The ones I'm looking up seem to want to link with Alexa etc, I just want a basic standalone unit. I don't specifically need any kind of history or data logging function, but I guess it would be nice. Bonus points for one that doesn't need to run off batteries, and/or it has a probe that I can tape on to the outlet of my UVC...
marshian
I use sonoff (TH100 from memory) - mains powered - can do temp and humdity with one type of sensor or just temp with another type power consumption is very low can use an app on my phone to see temps/humidity from anywhere over wifi or 4G Logs data hourly and keeps up to 12 mths data
Pocster
If you feel ‘advanced’ you could go down the home assistant route . I avoid where possible battery sensors - though the current zigbee ones seem to be lasting over a year .
