RichS
So I've got my 300mm stone sub base down, compacted every 50mm, and I've got the blinding arriving next week, another 50mm. The question is, did you, or your contractor, compact the blinding?? I would guess that 1 run over with the wacker and then top up and lay the insulation would be the way to go. Anyone know differently??
Russell griffiths
That's what I would do.
PeterW
You have to compact the blinding, it will most likely compact more than the MoT1 due to it acting as a fluid under pressure. The blinding locks together the top surface of the MoT to create the solid surface you put the insulation on.

Ours is pea shingle, so not realy blinding I guess but to keep things flat I laid a 50mm strip, the thickness desired, of timber around the periphery of garden room slab, got that mm flat and used it to tamp the pea shingle to then tried to avoid walking on it! Gone West
Ours was granite fines maximum size 4 to 5mm and was not compacted but just raked level. It was held in place by the geotextile.
