Corner brackets

Recommended Posts

After 7 years SWMBO wants me to assemble the dining table .

Naturally the brackets appear to have vanished .

What should I use here ?
So bonds the 2 sides to the leg corner

Normally just a block of wood across that diagonal that you can see is already cut, and then bolts through that block and into the leg.

Yeah I thought that but prefer metal

Ok. Decided I'll stick some timber in there. The timber to leg ( corner post ) though appears to be some kind of bolt fixing.

I'm guessing a hanger bolt of sorts would work; like the perhaps....

It’s hard to tell . But from memory I think the leg hole is thread I.e not a metal thread - just from the bolt going in .

Yeah I looked at things like that. The return on the end might cause me problems though?? - I suppose it would bite the timber.

The correct size is an issue.

I'll go with the timber and I've ordered M6/M8/M10 bolts from Amazon. 1 pack of each - so I can return the other 2 packs!!. Trial and error is the way!

Being retired in a house that’s finished with building kit left over and a nice workshop 🤷‍♂️

This is why self-builders always move onto another build...eventually...even when they say they won't 😉 Just watch it, you've started down the slippery slope. Next it'll be a two-bed tree house in the forest somewhere and then before you know it,it's another passivhaus 😁
