Tom
Hi all - I've chased these pipes into a wall which is then going to be tiled, should I fill in around the pipes with mortar? The pipes have been wrapped in duct tape. Would the tiles have a hollow sound if I leave it as is? Many thanks!
Mr Punter
I don't think the hollow sound would be an issue but it may not work well if the tiles meet in the void. Neat chasing!
SuperPav
Are you tiling directly onto the concrete block? without backerboard or anything? Wish my newly built walls were straight enough for that!! If the tile edge doesn't meet over the chase, you can probably just bridge it (depending on the tile!), I'd personally probably fill it in (even if just squirty foam and then trim it flush), but I'd be putting backerboard over my walls anyway so that would hide any chases.
nod
Fill it with sand and cement and your tilers will tile over I’m guessing a large heavy tile
Pocster
Leave it as is. Makes a 'modern' towel rail....
