Yes it's a loft area. Actually it's behind a knee wall. Hopefully there is no damp or condensation here but ji can't be certain as we just moved in.

Personally, I'd have said access was a bit iffy, could have been mounted so you could actually check on it. 

 

Also, the power supply. How's it fed? 

 

Do you have an easy access 'turn it off and on again' switch if its in a loft?

It's behind a small door on the 2nd floor so access is easy.

 

Though in the future we might close off and insulate the knee wall so we'll probably move the switch in to the habitable space.

 

I think it's on the same circuit as the other plugs on the 2nd floor but I'll have to verify.

I would have recommended doing it right the first time, to save duplication of labour and additional costs and asking for advise prior to the works being carried out

 

small racks are Inexpensive.
