So how to fold a radon barrier with cut at corner or not?

Recommended Posts

Groundsman has told me I will be getting the job of folding the radon barrier and I am sure he mentioned it needs cut. Someone else had told me ages ago not to cut it, just fold.

Bit confused and don't want to look up wrong info. Can you tell me best practice?

Your better just folding it in on itself

I’ve seen them done both ways it and taped looks neater But it’ doesn’t need to look pretty Just be airtight

Radon is a large atom, number 86, the outer electrons are not held very tight to the nucleus, and that is where the problem is, in part.

Half of it will decay every 4 days.

So best no chance of holes or splits in the barrier.

The reason you've been given the job is its fidly to do right.

I folded inside corners and taped outside corners and it took ages.

A Hot air gun is your friend :)

Oh goodness I hadn't thought of a hot air gun. Thanks. Did you use a roller?

I did use a roller a bit but found a roller is not great if the thing your rolling against is rough, like blocks are.
