PeterW Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Wickes - register as trade (10% off) then your £4.25 becomes £3.83 at the weekend or £3.61 on a Monday in store ...
addz307 Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 I heard that before about Quinn but in regards to wickes, I wish I could register as trade but not got a company unless there's a way round it cheers
PeterW Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Create one ... use Word or Publisher to create a business card and comp slip, print it out and then take a photo of it ... B.Odgett & Sons.... General Builders...
addz307 Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 lol I thought of that weren't sure if that would work and if they needed to see company tax stuff

As a self builder that's normally not that hard to find. When I wanted a trade card for a tile merchant I just showed a pile of Jewsons pink invoices and they said "OK fine".

So I set up my Howdens account with just a driving licence, my bank details and a hard hat ... rep walked onto site, joiner referred to me as "the boss" and I got my freebies and a £3k credit limit in less than 24 hours .....
Vijay Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 I got a wickes trade card just for being a selfbuilder
addz307 Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 Ok wickes is properly the one I'd go for and I am a self builder not quite professional but you never know one day lol

I didn't even have the hard hat..just looked a bit scruffy. Only challenge is the small talk every time I went in 'How's business? Much on?' etc... always felt a bit of a fraud. 1
