Jymmm
Hi All, I've always struggled to set the flow on the above flowmeters. I've only just noticed that they sit alot higher than the others on the black plastic threaded part. Is this why i can't increase the flow? How do i fix this? How would i know the type to replace if i need to get another one Thanks
Conor
That means they are fully open. If the flow rate won't increase, it's likely due to the pipe loops being longer than the others and the pump can't overcome the pressure loss. Make sure the valves on the return end of the manifold are open as well. What's your pump setup and what are the flow rates on the other loops? More than one manifold? Edit, they seem to be about 3lp/min? That should be more than enough. Edited November 21, 2022 by Conor
dpmiller
looks like they're maxed-out already. How much flow do you need? Can you turn the pump up or decrease a bypass?
JohnMo
That's about the same flow as I have on my 100m loops. Are trying to achieve more heat in the room with those loops? Or something else?
Jymmm
Thanks for the replies - that makes sense. Trying to increase the floor temperature in that room as its a few degs lower compared with the other loops. The pipe lengths are unknown to me unfortunantly and its the furthest room from the manifold/pump. I'll have to see what can be done with the pump speed. Thinking about it backwards; In terms of efficency with a heatpump & buffer - Would it ever make sense to match the other loops to the worst performing loop? I.e adjust the other loops to give the same surface temps as the coldest floor surface making everything the same.
JohnMo
You increase pump output/ speed. Or Increase flow temperature and decrease flow in the other rooms.
ProDave
Which one(s) are you trying to increase? they all look pretty good apart from the one on the right, which looks like it has some way to go if you want to increase it. Be aware there is no "stop" on the adjustment and you can unscrew the flow meter completely, then you get wet. (you don't need to ask how i know)
Jymmm
trying to increase the heat in the two flow meters with the red arrow. 3l/m looks to be the max i can get it too with most of the other loops having a max range all the way to
