CalvinHobbes
Hello, so we finally have our planning passed, construction drawings and are ready to go. We have some tenders out. Yes at the worst time possible which makes me feel rather sick but hey ho, it is what it is. You all are an inspiration. Anyway, we have an overhead cable that goes quite low over our sloping site which obviously needs to go. Plus we need the cable that is running into the house that will be demolished taken down too. So I know to ask for both of these. Thing is, should I ask at the same time for an electric supply to go to the edge of the property?
ProDave
Definitely. Get site power connected to a kiosk on the site boundary. you will need site power for the buld. Once that is in, it is your choice. Some of us chose to leave the power in a kiosk on the boundary as the permanent supply and run our ouwn cable from there to the house, others pay to have the power feed diverted into the house once built. Kelvin
Who is your DNO? They are all a little different to achieve the same end. I did exactly as @ProDave describes above after reading the forum. All relatively straightforward. Everything takes longer than you think though so make sure you plan for that. Jilly
It's also possible to get other services in the same trench and then claim some of the money back.
