Hi folks,

We have only just started on our rebuild journey after loosing our home to a house fire 3 years ago today.

We are at the end of planning/build warrant stage after finally getting paid out by the insurance company!

if anyone is going through a large domestic insurance claim with a loss adjuster called Sedgwicks drop me a message as we finally beat them after 2 1/2 years of hell. We are no experts but we have found out what their games are.

Now that’s all behind us, time to rebuild!

Good morning and welcome to you both, @Andy110769 2-1/2 years must have been tiring.

There is an interesting back story there that you may or may not wish to share.  But it is unusual for an insurance company so settle in cash for you to rebuild yourself, normally they just contract the rebuild.

 

Best of luck with the rebuild. Make the most of the opportunity to build to decent insulation and air tightness standards.

Welcome both.

An insurance company manager i built a office for, proudly stated how they had the lowest payout rate of any insurer. They spent money on fighting claims rather than paying.  You would know the name.

It’s why our insurance is with NFUM for nearly everything and especially the animals. They aren’t the cheapest but they are very easy to deal with when we have had to claim which has mostly been for our fragile flat coated retrievers. 😂
