What is the acceptable threshold for standing water on a new gutter system? None at all, or maybe a small few puddles here and there?

New guttering has gone on the house as part of the extension, so it's on new and old eaves (old has been clad) run is about 10m, and there's a few patches where there's standing water after last nights rain. Should I be concerned?

You don't want the water to weigh so much it pulls the gutter / facsia off.  It can be a bit annoying if it gets used as a bird bath when you are underneath.

I have enough trouble with the birds pulling moss off the roof and chucking it all over my car :)

I've got flat/low spot in the gutter above my front door I need to adjust. Visually and functionally it's fine, but as above, the pigeons drink from it and $h!t on the doorstep...

strangely enough I found an expired pigeon up the garden today.

I didn't make a pie.

I am in a Bird Flu area, avoiding them all.
