Moonshine
We have our hob going in on a kitchen island and need to get power to it. The electrician has said the a 32mm waste pipe will be fine, but there is a bit of discussion where to put the conduit. Options are; a) in screed (50-60mm) and ufh to be laid out arround it b) embeded in top layer of insulation, under vcl / screed c) direct onto dpm / block and beam floor with fixings and insulation above. I can see issues with all three, so what are BH's thoughts on what is best?
TonyT
C- keeps it clear of dafties drilling and cooler cause it’s further away from the UFH
Roundtuit
We went with 'c'. Didn't give it much thought or really consider the alternatives tbh, but used bigger ducting. Our island has hob, SensioPod electric socket on the kitchen ring (well worth considering), and led lights over the plinth, switched from a wall. Bonner
Just done mine last week, put it in the insulation. Also put a waste pipe in case any change of plan, like a sink is suddenly needed! @LA3222, gave me the idea 😃

LA3222
Good to see you are planning ahead...I assumed the missus wouldn't change her mind and didn't bother. Soon found myself going at a concrete slab with an sds. Not fun.
