Question
We have just bought a sander BEW 200 Black and Decker https://www.blackanddecker.co.uk/products/power-tools/sanders/200w-4in1-multisander/bew200 and I have two questions: 1) When we sand the walls (painted or plastered), there is load of dust in the room and hardly any dust in the dust bag. Is this normal? 2) Are there any sanders that will capture nearly all the dust? Thanks for any help you can provide.
PeterW
1. Not surprising unless you have attached decent extraction to it. They are not designed with positive extraction blowing into the bag. 2. yep- Mirka or Festool… just sit down when you look at the prices .. https://restorate.co.uk/products/mirka-deros-5650cv-deco-solution-kit-230v Festool 576323 Eccentric Sander ETS EC150/3 EQ-Plus 240V https://amzn.eu/d/bvdXbl4
Question
Thanks very much. We will first try getting decent extraction with a vacuum cleaner. If we were spending many days sanding, we would get the Mirka or Festool.
Radian
I keep seeing the Mirka on TV - repair shop and a couple of different makeover shows. Their (suspected) product placement works as I've noticed it and want it. Good job I can't afford it.

I got it 2nd hand so not ridiculously pricey and it works well. Bags are costly though!

Hire a proper cyclone vacuum, as they have the various staged filters for fine dust, otherwise you’ll be cleaning those baby vacuums out every 15-20 mins.
