Ducting with ICF

Hey 

 

so foundations soon going in. 
what have folks done with ducting for ASHP ? 
 

plant room isn’t on an external wall. 
Is it best to go down through the slab and come up 500mm externally with the feed / return / elec cable to the compressor. Or lay horizontal duct through ICF wall for simplicity. 

as ever , somebody has made these choices before please share 🙂

I used a length of Uponor twin insulated pipe. Chuck in another duct or two for power and coms cables to the ASHP

Under the slab, not through it.

We put 3 pipes in the ICF prior to pouring the concrete having discussed the size of pipes required with the installer. The ASHP will be behind the garage.

Hello - sorry to resurrect this thread -  we are planning on putting our pre-insulated pipes from our utility room in the middle of the house, under the slab, and then in a trench to the rear of the garden. 

 

What happens if we ever needed to replace the pipes? Could we put them in some sort of ducting so we could remove / replace if needed?
