WWilts Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Cold roof, insulation in first floor ceiling/attic floor For airtightness, want to minimise penetrating the ceiling How to make pendant light fittings airtight, or how to substitute pendants with something more airtight?
saveasteading Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Drill the holes for the screws, pump in some silicon, screw fit as normal. At the cable entry pump in silicon around the cable. You could do ore from above if it is accessible. 1
James94 Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Cold roof insulation vcl and 50mm service cavity is the way we went for air tightness. No need for anything to penetrate vcl. Regards James
PeterW Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Use offcuts of airtightness tape around the cables and behind the rose but the better option is just use service voids below the VCL/ACL where possible.
