epsilonGreedy Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 I have had some odd conversations roofing suppliers this morning who all claim that 1.5m rolls of roofing membrane are not a regular stock item. They say pro roofers do not like using 1.5m wide rolls because they are too difficult to handle in wind. Is this true or are they steering me to 1m wide rolls because of a supply shortage with 1.5m rools?
Mr Punter Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Roofer always uses 1.5m. Cheaper and easy enough to fix. I doubt anyone want to fix the felt down in a strong wind. There seems to be plenty online.
PeterW Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Roofers use 1.5m as it’s quicker - if you’re doing it on your own then 1m may be easier to handle.
epsilonGreedy Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 Thanks guys, as I suspected the real story is crafty suppliers trying to sell me what they have in stock today.
dnb Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Mine was all 1.5m. I know I did the roof myself, but the membrane was supplied and fitted as part of the SIPs kit.
