Jeremy22 Posted June 27, 2021 Share Posted June 27, 2021 We’re just about to put slates on the roof of our timber frame. All the gables have ladders on them and once the render board is on, the bargeboards (which will be black uPVC :( ) will be about 220mm out from the face of the building providing a good overhang of roof. The question is, should we use any verge covering or leave the tiles ‘raw’. I’ve seen the black aluminium dry verge product from Kytun and it looks smart but I also like the clean slate only look. Lots of new slate roofs I’ve seen in the last few days seem to have a dry verge with no trim. What do people think? any advice appreciated. I like to see rafter feet and brickwork to the top. dry verge compliments it very nicely, you can get nice straigh line systems that look really good and of course no muck to repoint once the frost gets at it.
