Hi

Would anyone have a sketch of jamb details and how cavities should be closed, showing insulation, dpm etc.

Currently cavity wall formed as below. All runs straight at moment. No return on tbe masonry. block inner leaf, 90mm insulation, 20mmm cavity, brick outer leaf. Brick oversails block by about 25mm and window should fit behind the brick with say 10mm lap.

Thanks

You need checked reveal cavity closers.  These come without the flange on the brick side.  You normally need to run a DPC down behind the brickwork.

Nice gappy insulation - plenty of thermal bypass possible. Also cavity slabs look to have a lap joint edge profile, if this is the case they have been installed incorrectly as the lap joint should ensure water is shed outwards.

Sadly bricklayers don't see it as their job to install insulation correctly.

…100% true, and the main reason I advise people on this forum to choose a different insulation system.

Superwall / general quilt insulation won't do that - nice and easy to fit properly.  Are you using some kind of PIR?

Thanks Nod

Are there any other solutions?

Insulation currently extends beyond block and not sure how it would be cut back properly to suit this.

Thanks Punter.

As with response to Nod above is there any other option?

Current proposal is to install vertical dpc behind brick and wedge smaller piece of insulation between it and the current insulation.
