SWMBO had a repeat on ( fancies Nick Knowles I think )

Anyway , they skimmed an entire room “ ready for painting tomorrow “ ?

I can see they have dryers in the room - but surely that almost guarantees the plaster cracking ? . You want natural slow drying yes ?? .

So assuming it doesn’t crack and is bone dry next day how do they do it ?

Just wondering !!

I am not a plasterer but there is no way I would force dry plaster. They do tend to cut corners on that prog.

Agreed . But it must crack ! . They then probably mist coat it , wait 10 mins , then paint it .

I know they are pushed for time even with 300 guys onsite - but it must cause issues .

Years ago I knew a bodgit builder who closed off a chimney breast, skimmed, woodchip papered it and painted it all in the same day.

Can I have his number please , I have some work for him .

They actually use very expensive breathable paint specifically selected for application on ‘wet’ plaster. I asked when I did DIY SOS in Swansea.  Not a single corner cut on that one, and I expected to see some being cut of course.

I think the unfortunate folk who benefit from such help would not give a toss about some shrinkage cracks, nobody in a Persimmon or Wimpey home do, and theirs take a lot longer to build :/

Is that because of all the tea breaks waiting for the plumbers to turn up and finish?

Don’t remember seeing you in the line out at the end . You know the bit where everyone pretends to cry . Then Nick Knowles looks at the camera and says something touching , then I say to the tv F off .

You have a cold, stone heart. If you didn't have a lump in your throat at the end of that then you must be deader than Scrooge McDuck. :S
