We'll have three wet rooms in the house all with walk in showers. The guy at the bathroom place was trying to sell me a £600 insulated board based kit for a shower...

All floors are concrete with 75-100mm screed.

Would I use a paint on system for the entire room:https://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-shower-waterproofing-kit/78484?tc=QB4&ds_kid=92700046986170840&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1245725&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=CjwKCAjw7diEBhB-EiwAskVi1wo7ZYuc-PnMlNmB5d8NfO_wMbxDTurWZ0gQpwU0JRt_6Uy7Uu8aQRoCqSYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

or so I need something more for the shower and bath areas, like this?

Anything else to consider?

When I tanked our 3 wet rooms over 3 years ago now I used the Mapei kit in 2, easy to use and worked a treat. In the 3rd I used the adhesive membrane, what a dog to apply and not quite so successful as we have the grout around the trap breaking up, I think because the membrane was not stuck down so well.

So I would definitely recommend the Mapei.

What have you done for the shower area for fall and waste?

Regards. James

Geberit wall drain...you asked! ?

I left a section out of the floor:

The yellow bit is a removable, protective, temporary cover:

The cover comes off to reveal a folded up membrane:

Had to use s 2"/50mm euro adapter on the waste:

Starting to foam in:

I made a metal frame to falls:

A special, heavy on the SBR, 10mm pea shingle concrete mix:

Tamped to falls:

The membrane folds out and gets tanked in:

Novel and great fun to do. There's a good few install videos:
