nod
It should be solid dabbed along the skirting and up the angles no need to fill Edited May 4, 2021 by nod

tonyshouse
But then wind/air can still get in under the floor and come out somewhere else, opposite skirting, under bath, behind door linings, downstairs through ceiling lights etc etc
MortarThePoint
Excuse my ignorance, but what are the main reasons to dob and dab rather than wet plaster? Does it work out cheaper or is it about using insulated plasterboard?

Frankly I believe it’s speed and lack of knowledge on how to plaster “properly”. I will not have it in my house, I had mine cement rendered then finish plastered, not hollow sounding, airtight (subject to other precautions) and able to fix anything to. 8 minutes ago, MortarThePoint said: is it about using insulated plasterboard? That’s another matter.
