the_r_sole Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Why was the previous application refused? If you've had the same extension refused twice, it's time to change the design if you want to progress
Paris22 Posted September 10, 2020 Author Posted September 10, 2020 Yes we are open to that. I still don’t understand when they’ won’t allow a 6 metre extension when they say you can if you live in a semi? And they obviously allowed it multiple times down the road. Same style house as mine.

It’s a way to keep you applying and them collecting fees. A lot of our neighbours have them. The law says you have extend up to 6 metres if you are a semi, that means you have neighbours in close proximity. No thats wrong... On a semi PDR allows upto 3m, and the neighbourhood consultation scheme may extend that to 6m. On a detached PDR allows upto 4m and the neighbourood consultation scheme may extend that to 8m.
Temp Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Are all the houses in your road similar or is there a lot of variation in size sahap and spacing?
Gus Potter Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Been following this with interest. Lots of good points by all so thank you. Before you progress / spend too much time / get stressed have you talked to a local Builder / Architect / Water board who knows where the drainage runs. There may be a reason for not building out too far in that if you have to deal with a public sewer, then all this could be a mute point as it could cost you a fortune to build over a public drain? Sometimes it worth looking ahead to make sure your efforts are going to bear fruit at the end of the day.
Paris22 Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Thank you to all for your views and advice.
