Taff Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Just had an email from window supplier. Can any one explain in lay mans terms! Re the fin. email says pic attached Good morning Chris, Reference the above, an internal fin reinforcement as below is required on the mullion of the large fixed frame (ref 20) due to the size and location. I’m highlighting this to you if you feel it is something your client will need to be aware of.
Russell griffiths Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 I believe it’s a stiffener, any thing in that profile will add strength and stiffness, i would say you must have a large span. 1
Taff Posted August 14, 2020 Author Posted August 14, 2020 So does this run the full height or is it just a piece on the top and bottom?

Email doesn't say if its a horizontal or vertical mullion. Better ask if not obvious. Probably full width or height accordingly. Edited August 14, 2020 by Temp

Imo they are referring to the vertical white rectangle which is the reinforcing fin strengthening the million against bowing. Drawing is a horizontal section I believe. Nice, sharp edge to fall onto and headbutt at 6mm wide! If it has to be there I'd be asking for a 48.5 x 52mm clip on or similar "cover" at no extra cost and finished to suit. Or...some split pipe lagging! ? Edited August 15, 2020 by Onoff
Taff Posted August 23, 2020 Author Posted August 23, 2020 Oooo! It’ll be the place where I consume vino so best look further into this, don’t want to be falling on to that in a state ??
