Onoff
Many a time I've taken cordless tools to site and knocked up the pattern for bespoke brackets in 10/12 mm MDF. Then drop into the fabricators and tell them to make it in steel and galvanise it. A few different types here for ideas: http://www.ashsafety.com/davit.htm

Pocster
RIGHT! Most companies aren't interested or relatively unhelpful or at best just expensive! Winch has arrived Scaf pole arm yet to arrive Ordered what scaf poles/fittings I *think* I need. Entire lot about £220 - delivery was £60! Still FAR cheaper than all the other options. Now we all must wait for 1) Everything to arrive 2) My attempt to assemble it 3) Form an orderly queue for hospital visits. What could possible go wrong!!!!
SteamyTea
I have kept out of this as I know nothing about it. But, as I like voicing an opinion. If the walls are 2.7m high, how much room is there at the bottom, the width and length. Could you make a slide? Every degree from vertical reduces the downward force. At 30° it will have 87% of the apparent mass, 45° 71% and if you can get to 60°, then half the apparent mass.

I'd carry an American fridge freezer up stairs on my back for a crack at that Kaley Cuoco! ? Edit: Not that I'd impress her before, during or after! Ferdinand
Just imagining when @pocster is 6 feet underground. It'll have a bloody glass top and you'll be able to go and stand on it, and look down at the skeleton and the balloon. The epitaph will be "Here lies @pocster Silence is golden" * with a scrawl across the bottom in a ghostly script "PS Does anyone want to buy ..." (Sales agent: Doris Stokes) Ferdinand * - Full stops left out of epitaph to avoid emotionally traumatising any millennials or Generation Zs reading the site. Just shout when your're ready and you can have this half can of blue paint and and an old brush I've got sitting here.
