As an aside a builder of my acquaintance told me that he uses 15mm boards when the studs are on 600mm centres and 12mm on 400mm as it makes getting the wall much more reliably flat, especially on dry lining.

The hole that the screw in the lath leaves you put your plasterboard screw in. You just use a narrower and shorter screw in the lath.


 

Sometimes the answer to a problem is so obvious you can't see it.
