Digmixfill
My new internal walls are going up fairly straight, which means the cavity size in some places varies quite a bit against my wonky outer skin. There are a few places where the cavity is > 165mm wide. Any suggestions for cavity closing my wonk? Edited May 17, 2020 by Digmixfill

PeterW
Standard cavity closers bonded in with low expansion foam
tonyshouse
Cut sheet insulation into the open cavity , I closed off with plasterboard fully bonded to reveal then wet plastered the walls http://tonyshouse.readinguk.org/274-2/
Mr Punter
I think it is good to have some DPC on the outer leaf wrapped around to the back. Other than that, @tonyshouse method seems to work OK.
tonyshouse
I gave up on dpc‘ s in reveals years ago, what is any different at the reveal to the body of the wall where there aren’t any, the reveal can probably deal with wet and damp better than the wall
Digmixfill
Thanks for the suggestions. Food for though with more than one option. 3 hours ago, Russell griffiths said: Very rigid rockwool, with a dpc stuck to one side. A DIY Rockclose type of thing? 3 hours ago, PeterW said: Standard cavity closers bonded in with low expansion foam Are standard closers meant to be fastened to the brickwork? There will one or two places where a 150mm closer probably wont overlap the brickwork on both sides. 2 hours ago, tonyshouse said: Cut sheet insulation into the open cavity , I closed off with plasterboard fully bonded to reveal then wet plastered the walls http://tonyshouse.readinguk.org/274-2/ Are building control ok with this approach? I thought they expected some kind of fire retardation in the closer?

The PolyPipe closers have a 250mm plastic liner with removable foam sections to reduce down the cavity.

Polypipe WCF200 would do the job nicely, but my they're pricey ?

Think I paid about £6/ex-VAT Quick search found this http://www.discount-trade-supplies.com/shop/product/1925-Multi-Width-Insulated-Cavity-Closer/ The first price I came across for the WCF200 was £54 inc VAT - no indication of multiples or a pack, so i'm taking that as each. Apparently that's with 18% off rrp.
