Raks
its decision time for a boiler.. Viallant seems more popular choice when it comes to quality performance and service but Veissmann technical specs and technology seems quite good as well, if not better in some areas. Whats your general experience with Veissmann Vitodens boilers especially with storage floor standing model 222-F and wall hang smaller 111-W if you have one or install one. thx
Wil
Hi, We have a 222F in our current leaky Georgian house (35kW version). It's been excellent for the last 9 years. Occasionally needs the expansion tank re-pressurised and had a couple of PRV faults, but these are likely to be to do with the ancient plumbing it was connected to. They're obviously massive, but has kept us warm and wet successfully. We do only have the one shower and bath so not sure how it would cope with a second bathroom connected. Adsibob
I’ve also found the Veissman Vitodens to look very good on paper. But both a heating engineer and a builder independently said they preferred to fit a Vaillant because they are more reliable and easier to fit. Which magazine rates both brands highly though, so not sure if it’s just that Vaillant are more commonly fitted in UK homes and Veissman is still to break into the residential market. tonyshouse
Veissmann for me every time - fail safe heat exchanger, very low problems for engineers under guarantee.
dpmiller
what does "fail safe" mean in this context?
tonyshouse
A lot of heat exchangers have microfins in them but they can clog and loose efficiency or fail completely Edited October 19, 2020 by tonyshouse Sp
