Visti
We're planning on recessed skirting to go with our fermacell board and was wondering whether anyone has any experiance with this? Specifically whether the fine surface treatment or joint filler will work with a bead such as the following: https://www.ags-systems.info/en/skirting-boards/z-profiles/ It has the advantage we can install these after the board has been installed. If not, we're planning on going for the following profile which will work, but will have to go on first: https://www.ags-systems.info/en/skirting-boards/light-profiles/

The do look contemporary and very attractive to me; currently I've been planning very basic skirtings but maybe I should have put a bit more thought into it. Alex C
That looks like it is going to be an expensive profile and only gives a small skirting. I used this https://www.qic-trims.com/product/type-r/ that worked well. r12. Then just cut down some mdf for skirting underneath, job done. Just noticed you arent skimming. That looks like quite a high profile to cover up with surface filler. Edited December 20, 2019 by Alex C

Visti
We're not looking to skim, just FST it. Called up the Fermacell technical line and they said it was possible to integrate the beads with the joint filler rather than skimming. So I guess that leaves both options open. Though I am not convinced. I may go with the option without a bead to be honest, much less to joint fill in. 18 hours ago, Alex C said: That looks like it is going to be an expensive profile and only gives a small skirting. Nick1c
Is a bead needed? I thought that the edge of the board was sufficiently robust. We are planning to have an unbeaded shadow gap.
