zoothorn
Hi- has anyone who might have built a 28mm log cabin, got a bit of wall log left over? 1x small 40cm long wall log rotted, needs replacing (28mm). I wonder if anyone might have a bit left over, or know if it possible to replace it? Thanks, zoot Edited November 4, 2019 by AnonymousBosch Edited for readbility
ToughButterCup
Let me get this right ... you're asking us to supply you with a piece of wood 400mm by 28mm? Can I suggest that your request needs phrasing with more care, or that you look in your builder's van for a spare bit of timber. I am aware that English may well be an additional language for you. But asking on BuildHub if we could somehow source a spare bit timber could easily be misunderstood. Tout traduction est trahison
zoothorn
Hi AB. I'm asking if anyone who might have built a 28mm log cabin, if a bit of wall log left over (as is often the case).. if I might be able to buy that's all. zoot.
PeterW
These will have a specific profile - usually to the manufacturer. Quickest way would be to template one and use a plane and router to create something that’s a near match and the “hide”it where it won’t show up as much.

That's an idea.. just thought if an industry std profile (IE Dunster House, Tuin) which looks possibly the case.. then maybe spares or an odd bit of someone's build. It'd be tricky to make but a good idea as last resort I'd not thought of.. & I do have the tools. thx
newhome
Can’t the place you are buying it from supply one, or suggest where you might get one from? Loglap is what Google came up with but not sure about dimensions. newhome
Check the size as the link I posted isn’t the correct size I think.
zoothorn
I think loglap is a bit different newhome (& glueing two together..? makes 42mm). Any 28mm section if I could find, I'm sure I could fashion to fit: this would be far the simplest solution: I know the usual 'excess' end bit of the joint is 100mm, & seems to be same between Co's. thx zoot

Temp
That looks like regular 28mm T&G. Google can find it. For example.. https://www.tuin.co.uk/Tongue-and-Groove-28mm-Timber.html but check the other dimensions.
