Hello, Would someone be able to advise what the best course of action is for laying screed over the waste pipe in the image. The floor has been built up so far with Type 1, Sand, DPC, Concrete. So all that is left to do is insulate and screed. Does the Soil Pipe need protecting before Screeding, if so, what product? Would you recommend PIR Boards for the insulation on the floor or another product? Thanks

Hi all I have started to convert an old barn into a 2 bed bungalow that will have vaulted ceilings through the majority of the building. I’m getting towards the point of needing to insulate the roof. The plans say in put 50x50mm lengths of wood up the existing 100x50mm rafters then insulate between and then overboard with insulated backed plasterboard. It wouldn’t be bad in a new build to do it this way but the old rafters are all slightly off spacing, are twisted and not square. (200 year old building, nothing is square) my idea was to just to screw the 100mm insulation directly to the rafters, maybe add a layer of OSB board below that then insulation backed plasterboard below that. the osb board would be there to provide a fixing point for the plasterboard and light fittings attached to the ceiling. any advice or ideas would be appreciated

Hi, I am planning a project to make a concrete shed into a live-able room. The walls are made of concrete and the roof is made of wood, I plan on insulating the roof but I'm not sure weather I need to insulate the concrete walls or just the concrete will be enough to keep it warm all year round. I've never done a project like this so if anyone has any pointers or ideas that would be great! Thanks!

Hi All, I'm looking for some suggestions for how best to insulate / stop cold bridging across a steel RSJ and vertical steel post that I've had to add to support a glazed gable. I don't have any details at the moment so I want to try and get a plan of action together this before I go and ask BC. I've found to date that they're not always the most helpful ! but that could just be my bad luck! I've got Alu windows going into so was planning on cladding both the steels externally in alu and internally was thinking of plastering the horizontal and alu clad the vertical post. All help welcome! Thanks Alex.
