To be regarded as PD i believe. From that i guess the question is what if you want to exceed the PD max size. Will it entail a planning request?
-
Having read with interest the recent post on here about ground mount i decided to read up a little on the options. Can anyone clear up my confusion over the max size please. Variously i have read 9 metres squared and 9 square metres.

Piling and Insulated Foundation - combination possible?
Post and beam replied to AppleDown's topic in Foundations
This might be of relevance. Our recent planning permission is in a conservation area in north Hertfordshire and we have a number of trees. Particularly 3 large walnut trees. No TPO or so i thought. But, it turns out that the very fact its a conservation area means blanket TPO by default. They dont nail the little metal tags onto trees to identify the protected ones like they used to years ago. -
PP with conditions - do I need to submit section 73 form?
Post and beam replied to JennyDevon's topic in Building Regulations
Last month i paid to discharge 2 of the 10 conditions at once. One fee due at this point. I expected to have to provide physical objects to the county planning office but was told that photo's and brochures would suffice. Very occasionally they ask for the physical apparently, but its now rare. Good luck. My second condition was the archeaolagy plan and this definitely needs to be discharged before i can get the trenches dug. -
I have had to wait until planning was granted before i could make arrangements to engage an Archeologist. Otherwise i would have done this a year ago. On the basis that until planning is granted they don't know for certain where the footprint is. Of the 3 trenches in the plan only one is even close to the footprint. I told you you cannot make this up. One of them is perpendicular to the road and on the direct line that will bring the heavy deliveries onto site. So now this will be on backfilled soft ground.
-
Not quite in that order. County had already decided that a field survey was going to happen. The Archeologist's first step was a desktop survey as part of his WSI submission. The county heritage team approve his scheme ( or not) and send notification to me. I then onward this to the planning officer who takes a fee. And, as of yesterday, tell me that they then have to send the scheme to the County heritage team for approval. They were uninterested when i told them it had come from them already and was approved!!!! You cant make this Sh1t up. Potential 8 week wait for this loop to work its way around.
-
Good luck with that! I doubt the local heritage team will take kindly to you deciding the liklehood of finding anything of interest. In my case i am having to get 6% area of my plot trenched. This amounts to 3 off 2 x 10 metre trenches at 1.2 metres depth minimum. My opinion of what is under the ground is irrelevant and worthless to the Heritage team at Hertfordshire county.

To be honest i did not believe i needed 3PH. But to take advantage of rapid EV charging it would be necessary and in that regard i am thinking more of resale desirability in, say 10 years, should i eventually downsize from the house. When i was told by the surveyor that the charge for 3PH was only about £150 more than the £6.5k approx for 1PH it looked like a no brainer to take the offer. I thank you for the link, i will read and digest. If i report back as and when.
-
It now appears that the surveyor was mistaken. I have been told that the village does not have enough capacity on the transformer for my 3PH. It needs an upgrade. Does anyone know if the electricity providers are obliged to provide my requirements at a nominal or at least affordable figure. I think i already know the answer to this question actually. I cannot pay for a transformer upgrade, and wouldn't, and the person who told me on the phone could not give me a revised price so i dont know where i stand now.

ashp ASHP - how much ???!!???
Post and beam replied to Robert Clark's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
Seems very expensive when you can find the prices of the hardware yourself. Very similar to figures i have been quoted and moaned about on here. I dont have a solution yet. Most companies are actually only quoting for supply to me. I need a one stop shop. -
Global warming is in fact entirely natural and has already peaked

Yes That is the very definition of heat. In other words she has invented a way of heating things. I wonder where the energy for that comes from. -

In fact we do. Its called the sun. More energy falls on the earth every day than we could possibly use. Its distributing it to where it is needed that is the issue. Distribute in all senses of the word. -

And how does a catastrophic and repeated failure of the conditions to support life in, for example, sub saharan Africa fit into the 'imbalance' model. However, if no one lived there it would cease to be a human issue. This is not the issue either. It already exists. Its a delivery to where its required issue. -

Agree. Its so obvious, you wonder why the News media dont mention it. Perhaps they have an agenda. -

With respect i dont agree. I was not doing any research in primary school or reading any. But i do accurately remember what the discussions were about. It is irrelevant to my statement whether it was accurate at the time or not, the discussion was the discussion. My teachers were concerned. As it happens i have no doubt that global warming is real, i do not believe i am misunderstanding any research today either. -

I am old enough to remember being a Primary school kid in the late 60's and early 70's. All the talk then was of the impending ice age. The models, and scientists promoting them, were quite sure of it. Just sayin'.... And, as it happens we are in fact still in an ice age. -
Design and build turnkey options
Post and beam replied to Bournbrook 's topic in Surveyors & Architects
Potton Homes do single storey as well. You could choose straight from the brochure, or modify one of theirs. We did this with a 2 storey version. Or take them a design and they will do their thing. But why pay for a design elsewhere and then pay again for Potton to modify. Just sketch what you want and show them. -
So, The surveyor from UK power networks came to the plot today. Cost to provide electrical supply will be about £6.5k. The total distance they need to dig to bring the supply to a box on site. is..... Anyone want to guess. About 20 feet As it happens the difference in price between 1ph and 3ph would be minimal. Does anyone know if there are other organisations that can competently do the dig part at a better price.
