  1. Correction the compressor is warm to touch but not really hot. If that makes sense. pump has reached target temp and is ok. I’m running without the second relay. Is that ok? Otherwise it trips out.
  2. I do feel heat on the pipes around it. The black unit part feels cold to touch though. No strange noises. Its the same as usual.
  3. Compressor light is activated and no strange noises. Relay 2 is removed KA6/2. Both fans running and system pump activated.
  4. Am I looking for noise from here. Is this the compressor?
  5. No error with relay removed unit heats up ok. Is it safe to run with relay out?
  6. Do you mean the C1 Capacitor? Can’t see where the wire goes too
  7. Image shown with relay removed
  8. Just an update, I have been switching off and removing bits this morning to isolate the issue. It seems if I remove one of the compressor enabaling relays it works fine, heats up and does not trip. I thought eureka that it was a faulty relay, so put the KA6/1 into KA6/2 and it trips immediately. So I think its compressor related. If I leave out the relay and run it, it works fine, is this advisable in the short term as the house is rather cold now?
  9. Still having problems and we thought it was all fixed. Still tripping at the outside wall. Sparky came around and confirmed it was the ASHP unit at fault. he tried disconnecting items to see if he could pin point the issue but to no avail. I need some help here guys please. He even removed the earth from the RCD, it ran a little longer but then tripped out through the neutral he said.
  10. So how does the pipe work into the kitchen. Are you saying drill a big hole to fit it?
  11. This is the side view where the existing pipe is.
  12. Now the extension is complete I need to extend the existing MDPE pipe and bring it up through the kitchen to connect up. My thoughts are to deepen the trench around the perimeter to 750mm, connect the existing 20mm pipe via a quick fit to more 20mm pipe. All of which I have. Question is what is the best way to bring it up to the kitchen just under the window in picture. ?
  13. I assumed it was glued anyway
  14. It will be glued foam backed vinyl flooring
  15. Got it sounds straightforward I hope. The floor is not too bad and I'm putting vinyl floor over it. Do I really need to level it to a high finish. Just a thought.
  16. I am in the process of doing up a property and the extension is now finished for the kitchen. It's 4m square. I want to level ff the floor before fitting the kitchen, what's the best way to do it with self levelling compound? ive never done it before and would like a try any tips please?
  17. I was just wondering, what is the ideal scenario to have when using a heat pump? Is it lowest possible temperature being supplied from the HP, which does not warm the rooms up enough to close the actuators to the UFH, or is it to increase the HP output so that the UFH reaches temperature and switches the actuators off? Im running 38 degrees C flow temp from the HP at the moment, room stats are set to 19C, but not reaching full temp, so always on demand for water flow.
  18. No issues with the pump at all until now
  19. Thanks guys. Seems to be all sorted. He replaced the breaker and now it’s working Ok. For now at least
  20. I have a sparky coming over now just to check the RCD over. If that all checks out where do I go from there?
  21. My 12 year old ASHP has worked fine up until now where it has this morning tripped the electric. Despite countless times of switching it back, it goes off again. Its our only source of heat.......any ideas please.
  22. |Yes agree Dave, its a strange way of working it but i have to see what i can do with a little/lot of help. Just when I see the bills coming in its frightening in the winter. Summer is great as off goes the ASHP and I live off the sun, that works great. I keep messing with the ASHP temp settings, trying to drop the KWh consumption but makes little difference and as it gets colder it gets worse. I will leave it on 24/7 at 42 deg return and report back on consumption later today. My checkpoint is usually 3pm. Really want to look more at the weather consumption setting with the help of @PeterW if possible.
  23. GOT YOU...that could be an issue for me, as we have nothing coming from the ASHP to buffer to tell it anything. Maybe weather comp is my only hope here.
  24. @PeterW hello again. now this cold spell has hit, I have had to turn my temp on the ashp up to 42 from 37 as house is too cold and rads almost Luke warm at best. Now using 67 kw a day compared to about 50 kw in January. would like to try the weather compensation settings again. Can you help please ?
  25. @TonyT many thanks. Looks like a good one
